The sad news was received in Roanoke Monday morning that Mr. Stanmore H. Carlisle was dead. His demise occurred suddenly Sunday afternoon in
Louisville, Kentucky where he had been for the past six weeks visiting his daughter Mrs. M.W.J. Young.

The remains arrived in Roanoke last evening, accompanied by Mr. Young and Charlie Carlisle. The afflicted wife was unable to make the trip. This morning at 10 o'clock funeral services will be held from the Baptist church and the interment will occur in this place. Mr. Carlisle was about 70 years of age, was a Confederate veteran and a member of the Baptist church. He leaves many relatives and friends.
