Daniel Brewster Baker, 69, died Jan. 18, 2008, at Hutchinson Hospital.

He was born Feb. 10, 1938, in Salina, the son of Aurther Frederick and Hester Mae Brewster Baker. He graduated from Cunningham High School and attended John Brown University. A resident of South Hutchinson since 1960, he had been a security guard with Pinkerton's Security, working at Carey Salt, and was a janitor with Harmony Cleaning and First National Bank. He belonged to Riverside Baptist Church.

On Aug. 6, 1974, he married Edna Jean Cochren in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: two daughters, Leilani and Luanne Baker, both of South Hutchinson; and two foster brothers, Jim Hamilton, Dublin, Ohio, and John Hamilton, Winston-Salem, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral will be at 10 am Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Richard Haley presiding. Visitation will be Monday and Tuesday, with the family present from 6-8 pm Tuesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Daniel Brewster Baker Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
