Completed arrangements are being announced for Charles R. "Sonny" Dalton, 77, of Dukedom, who died Nov. 3, 2010, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Jackson Funeral Home in Dukedom, with the Rev. Frank Dalton Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today.
He was born June 13, 1933, in Weakley County, son of the late N.C. and Rubye (Buck) Dalton. He was the widower of the former Bernice Blaylock and was a retired U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War and in two tours of Vietnam. He had also worked as post master replacement at Dukedom Post Office and he attended Good Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Donna Sisk of Byhalia, Miss., Wilma Fuller and Marie Koker, both of Dukedom, Paula Mink of Lowell, Ind., and Charlene Wooten of Nashville; five sons, Charles Dalton Jr. of Memphis, Michael P. Dalton of Sheboygan, Wisc., Norman C. Dalton of Jackson, Charles Blaylock of Dukedom and John Douglas Blaylock of Martin; 26 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Frank "Buddy" Dalton.
