Mrs. Mary M. Lux, widow of the late Henry Lux, died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Barney Uschold in Rose Creek. The deceased had been in failing health for some time but only recently did she give up her own home to live with her daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Lux had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary July 16, 1926 and he passed away November 16, 1927.
Mary Mohrbacher was born in Racine, Wisconsin, April 10, 1854. On July 13, 1876 she was married to Henry Lux and they went to Ashford, Wisc. to live, remaining for twenty years, then coming to Rose Creek and became one of Mower County's best and successful farm citizens. Six children survive, Katherine, who is Mrs. Barney Uschold, Clara, wife of E.K. Schramm, and son John and William all of Rose Creek; Tena, wife of George Schumacher and Jospeh Lux of Austin. Two sisters and a brother are also left, beside twenty one grand children and seven great grand children.
Mrs. Lux was a devoted member of the Catholic church, was a good wife and a kind and loving mother and she will be missed by her great host of friends. Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Peters church, Rose Creek, with Rev. Father Tennessen officiating. Interment was made at St. Peter's Cemetary.
