Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today in Broussard's Mortuary Chapel for John E. (Bill) Howell, 43, of Sour Lake, who died at 2 a.m. yesterday in Baptist Hospital after an illness of four weeks duration.
The Rev. Lewis Risinger, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Sour Lake, will officiate. he will be assisted by the Rev. John Wesley Hardt, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Beaumont.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with graveside rites conducted by the Masonic Lodge of Sour Lake. Pallbearers will be A.J. Carney Jr., Lloyd Randolph, and Archie Johnston, all of Sour Lake, E.G. Atkinson of Nederland, and Leroy Myers and John H. Honeycutt, both of Beaumont.
Mr. Howell was a native of DeRidder, La., had lived in Beaumont from 1927 until 1952 when he moved to Sour Lake. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Genevieve Howell; his mother, Mrs. Julia Howell of Beaumont,; two stepsons, A.C. Rogers Jr. of Wichita, Kan., and Bert Eugene Rogers of Beaumont; two brothers, Truman and Thurston Howell of Beaumont, and four sisters, Mrs. James A. Redmond and Mrs. Adrian McDaniel, both of Beaumont, Mrs. Marvin Laurent of Nederland and Mrs. Robert Flickenger of Winnie.
Welder for 14 Years. He was a welder for Sun Pipeline co. for 14 years. He was a member of the Sour Lake Masonic Lodge.
