We have lost a bright star, a woman full of life, laughter, and love. Mrs. Brenda Beathard left this world on June 18, 2007 with her beloved family and friends at her side. Mrs. Beathard was born to Homer and Gwendolyn Nagel on April 30, 1940. Mrs. Beathard graduated from Vidor High School in 1958 and married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Beathard.
After many years of teaching in Vidor and Galveston, she became the camp director in the game of life for her children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors. Mrs. Beathard was tenacious in her battle against several illnesses and overcame many obstacles. Her life is a testimony to never giving up, never feeling sorry for yourself, and always believing in the promises of tomorrow. Mrs. Beathard will be missed by those she loved and will always be present in our hearts.
Survivors include her daughter Wendy; son and daughter-in-law Gerry and Mary Beathard; grandchildren Jessica and Trey; brothers John Austin Nagel and Charles Glenn Nagel; and mother-in-law Zelma Beathard.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Brenda Beathard were held Saturday, June 23, at 1:00 PM in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel in Crockett. Interment followed in the New Energy Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barbara Bush Youth Literacy Foundation, 1201 15th Street NW, Suite 420, Washington, DC 20005.
