Michael C. Baker, age 65 of Canyonville, Oregon, passed away Sunday January 14, 2007. He was born in Grants Pass, Oregon, on January 25, 1941, to Ted and Mary (Little) Baker. Michael graduated from Glide High School and has been a resident of Douglas County most of his life. He served his country with a tour in the US Navy and as a Sergeant for 3 1/2 years as a military advisor in the US Army in Vietnam, where he earned his Combat Infantry Badge. Michael then worked at the Roseburg VA Medical Center as a laundryman, where he retired. He also spent some time working as a fire watch. Michael was a member of the Roseburg Gun Club. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially on the Snake River. Michael is survived by his mother, Mary E. (Little) Baker of Roseburg, Oregon; and a brother, Theodore R. Baker and his wife Loretta of Roseburg; and many nieces and nephews.
