Army Spc Addison was assigned to the 507th Ordnance Maintenance Company, Fort Bliss, Texas. Killed when ambushed by enemy forces. Jamaal attended Henderson High School from 8th to 10th grade, then went to Lakeside High School in DeKalb, Georgia where he was a member of the Junior ROTC and graduated in 1998 with a college prep degree. He was an excellent student, maintaining an honor role status throughout his academic experience. Jamaal enjoyed sports and music, but his love of video games spurred his interest in computers. His expertise in computer technology created a desire to become a computer technician and eventually own his own computer business. Motivated by the opportunity to gain training as a computer technician and better provide for his family, he joined the Army in 2000. He spent a year in Korea before he was sent to the Middle East in the first days of the Iraqi war. Jamaal's family remembers him as a quiet, yet driven young man with a very gentle spirit. He grew up in the church and always looked out for his two sisters. He leaves behind his wife Tekla, a 2-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter.
