Ruby Arndt, 85, of New Ulm died Saturday, August 14, 2004 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Donald Sutton officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 7:30 until 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday.
Ruby is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jacqualine and Gerald Schroeder of Hanska, Elaine and Carl Paa of New Ulm, Diane and Tom Konakowitz of Rochester, Sonja and David Freiderich of New Ulm, and Debra and Paul Roiger of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Ezra W. "Buzz" and Marie Arndt of Brooklyn Park and William and Rebecca Arndt of New Ulm; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ezra W. Arndt on February 19, 1991; a sister, Agnes Wright; and by a brother, Oscar Troldahl.
Ruby Olga Troldahl was born on March 30, 1919 in Hanska to Ole and Rena (Sperstad) Troldahl. She attended school in Hanska.
On November 19, 1935, Ruby was united in marriage to Ezra W. Arndt in Hanska. Her and her husband owned and operated the National Cafe in New Ulm from 1950 - 1955. She then worked for the Wearwell Garment Factory in New Ulm for many years before becoming employed at Kraft Foods in New Ulm, working there for 16 1/2 years before retiring in 1982. She was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Ruby was an avid bowler being a member of the New Ulm Bowling Association and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame in 1992. She became a resident of the Oak Hills Living Center on December 8, 2002. Ruby will always be remembered for her love of family and her great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her.
