Ruby L. Anderson, age 80 of Becker, and formerly of Big Lake and Monticello, passed away surrounded by her family at the Quiet Oaks Hospice House of St. Augusta on Friday November 26, 2010. Visitation will be Thursday December 2nd from 5 PM to 8 PM at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 East Broadway, Monticello. Further visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Friday. Funeral services will be Friday December 3rd at 11 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, 11755 Sherburne Ave SE, Becker. Rev. Brad Barr will officiate. Interment will be at Crystal Lake Cemetery of Minneapolis.

Ruby was born on August 17, 1930 in Minneapolis to George and Lillian (Thompson) Card. She grew up in Minneapolis and on November 5, 1949 she was united in marriage to Everett Anderson. The couple made their home in the Twin Cities for several years before moving to Limestone Lake in rural Clearwater in 1975. Everett passed away in 1990, and since then Ruby has lived in Monticello, Big Lake and most recently Becker. Ruby has always been active in church congregations she has attended. She loved to bowl and attended many tournaments during her life. She was a hospice volunteer at Monticello-Big Lake Hospital, now New River Medical Center. Ruby was a gifted writer and enjoyed composing poems for family and friends commemorating life's events. She loved spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed life. She was a good listener. Ruby will be remembered for her contagious laugh.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents George and Lillian Card; husband Everett; brothers Ray and Buddy; sisters Jane and Rose; grandson Tyler; and daughter-in-law Diane.

She is survived by her children Barb (Barry), Mike (Betsy), Margie, Steve (Kris), Andy (and friend Nancy), Jim (Shelly), Jeff (and friend Darla); 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and brother Ron (Carol). Memorials are preferred to Quiet Oaks Hospice House, PO Box 1241, St. Cloud, MN 56302, or the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
