Boulder, Colorado artist noted for her paintings depicting religious, mythological and nature themes. Lou died of a melanoma that metastasized.
Lou studied art at the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC. She married Harry Rogers who died a suicide a couple years later (1958) in Deerfield, Massachusetts. They had one daughter, Forest P. Rogers, who, like her mother, is an extremely talented artist and now lives in her mother's former house in Boulder, Colorado.
For many year Lou worked for the Rohn Company of Pittsburgh, PA, creating and restoring liturgical art in Catholic and Orthodox churches, frequently on high scaffolding. Additionally, she created many paintings as the inspiration or the commission moved her.
It is feared that a large, stored collection of her art was destroyed in the 2013 Boulder area flooding.
Lou is greatly missed by all who knew her.
