Mrs. Angeline Sophia Jones died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emaline Pritts. at Phillipsburg, Monday, December 30. She had made her home with her daughter and with her son, Henry Jones, also of Phillipsburg, since 1986.
She and her husband settled just across the line in Decatur county in 1885. before the railroad was built through. Some years ago her husband. Lisbon K. Jones and a son received fatal injuries in a runaway accident. For many years "Grandma" Jones carried on at the farm home north of town. In 1936, because of failing health she decided to make her home with her children at Phillipsburg.
All the children living were at her bedside when death came. They include: Henry Jones. Phillipsburg; Clarence Jones, Grafton, Nebr. Mrs. Lyda Phelps, Selden; Emaline Pritts. Phillipsburg: Jessie Carmichael, Steel City, Nebr.; and Ella Phelps, Fairbury, Nebr.
The body was brought to Selden last Thursday and funeral services held in the Selden Methodist Church. The body was laid to rest beside her husband in the Selden Cemetery.—Selden Independent.
