Elizabeth Ann Allen married Josiah Joseph Herod Oct 13, 1830 in Madison Co. MS. Daughter of William Hodges Allen and Mary Morgan; Grandparents Richard R. Allen and Mary Braxton. Herod's and the Allen's were both early settlers into the North Carolina,Tennessee, Mississippi and further into Arkansas and Texas, together.

Nine children were born to Elizabeth and Josiah:
