Thelma McCoy, 86, of Lubbock, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Visitation will be Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m., at Rest-haven Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2006 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Pastor Ellis Dean officiating.
Thelma Leora McCoy was born July 11, 1919 in Kingfisher, OK to Emerson and Hazel Dial. She married J. Roy McCoy in Norman, OK in 1936. Together, they moved to Lubbock. She was a loving wife and mother in her home. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star and attended Trinity Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching PTL and the 700 Club.
Thelma is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J. Roy; a son, John David McCoy; and two brothers, Ralph and Eldon Dial.
She is survived by her children, James M. McCoy and wife Peggy, of Wolfforth, Clara Elizabeth Richards-Orton and husband Rod, of Tulsa, OK, J. Roy McCoy, III and wife Faye, of Washington; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
