Donald was born on May 21, 1938 to Frances Elliott and Minnie Allice (Lighthart) Bennett in Molalla, Oregon.
He married Joan Hale on March 21, 1964 in Stevenson, Washington.
He attended school in Prineville and graduated in 1957 at Crook County High School.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy for four years stationed in Pensacola, Florida, for two years and Adac, Alaska for two years. Donald lived in Pensacola, spring of 1962 then moved to Estacada, Oregon, where he logged off and on and also was a tire retreader for Ericksons Tire Co. from 1964 for 1996.
He retired in 1996 and moved to Prineville. He traveled in Oregon for three years.
His hobbies include hunting, fishing, keeping his cars immaculate, his dog, picking up rocks and weeding the yard. He love the outdoors. Donald had jars with rocks "special" for the grandchildren. He was an avid hunter. He was a member of the Prineville Eagles Post #2555 since 1996.
Survivors include: his wife, Joan Bennett of Prineville; sons, Donald W. Bennett of Estacada, Oregon, and George (Bill) and Beckie Bennett; grandson, Jacob Lee Bennett and granddaughter, Hannah Alexandrea Bennett of Prineville, and his special dog named Dude.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister.
