Floyd 'Marv' Marvin Jones, a Prineville, Oregon resident passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Pioneer Memorial Hospital. He was 79 years of age.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge in Prineville. Larry Beard will officiate.

Floyd was born in Prineville on August 22, 1931 to Floyd Marcus and Zena Della (Woods) Jones.

He attended schools in Prineville and graduated from Crook County High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 until he was honorably discharged in 1953. He served overseas in Germany.

Marv worked as a journeyman electrician in Oregon and Alaska for many years, then worked as a maintenance supervisor at the DAW Forest Products Plywood Mill in Redmond, Oregon for 14 years, before retiring in 1995.

He married Sherlyn Ann Feucht on January 24, 1981 in Redmond, where they lived for 21 years raising their three children before moving to Prineville in 2002.

He was very active in the Redmond and Prineville Masonic Lodges, Central Oregon Shriner's, Central Oregon Scottish Rite, and other Masonic bodies. He was a 32nd-degree Mason.

Floyd loved being involved in anything that would help the children. He loved to fish, hunt, golf, and participate in water sports and go camping with family and friends.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Sherlyn Jones of Prineville; sons, Cary and his wife Danielle Jones of Eugene, Oregon, Marc and his wife Karen Jones of Gold Beach, Oregon, and Robert Jones of California; daughters, Kasey and her husband Chad Phillips of Lacey, Washington, Kelli and her husband Vernon Dixon of Prineville; brother, Gene and his wife Zanna Jones of Prineville; and three grand-daughters; Emily, Lorilyn and Zoe.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Even in death he helped others through his donation of organs and tissue.

Arrangements are in the care of the Prineville Funeral Home.
