JOHN W. DROWN
Was born October 23, 1831 near Ellicottville, Cataraugus, New York, died at his home in Cheyenne Valley, October 18, 1922, age 97 years, 11 months and 25 days.
He was married in Indiana in the year 1862 to Rose Ann Marsh, who died Otober 3, 1914.
To this union were born four children: Charles of Orienta, Oklahoma; Mrs. Emma Stamm, Sibley, Iowa; Mrs. Minnie Button, Long Beach, California; and Mr. Ollie Drown, Newbury, Missouri.
Mr. Drown was a Civil War veteran, having served as a Private with Company B, 73rd Indiana Infantry.
He came to Oklahoma in the spring of 1899, settling in Cheyenne Valley where he spent his closing years.
He was a good neighbor, a kind husband and father.
