COOKEVILLE - Funeral services for James William Arnett, 75, of Cookeville will be conducted from the chapel of Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home Friday, Decembet 21, at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Arnett died Wednesday (December 19, 1990) at his home.
A native of La Grange, Georgia, he was the son of Ruth Parham Arnett of Marietta, Georgia, and the late William Juel Arnett.
Mr. Arnett was a member of First United Methodist Church, Evening Lions Club and the Brotherhood of United Methodist Church. He served as administrator of the ROTC Dept. at Tennessee Tech University for over 16 years, retiring in 1984. He retired fr6m the Marine Corp. as Sgt. Major in l967 after serving 32 years.
In addition to his mother, his family includes his wife, Mary Savard Arnett of Cookeville; three daughters, Joanne Tutschek of Mountain Lakes, N.J., Mary Masson of Troy, Michigan, and Peggy Barnett of Jonesboro, Ark.; one son, James William Arnett Jr. of Brentwood; one sister, Virginia Hardy of Marietta; one brother, Iack Arnett of Smyrna, Georgia, and nine grandchildren.
