Athenius was the wife of Judge James Allen Colbert. The daughter of Rev.Israel Folsom and Lovica Nail Folsom. She was born August 11, 1835, at Eagletown, Indian Territory and died January 19, 1930, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The State of Oklahoma honored her at her death by having the flag over the Capitol flown at half mast.
She was of the Hyah-pahptuk-kala Clan.

Athenius M. Colbert, age 94, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. Corlan, 303 E.20th. Survivors are three sons; Charles Colbert, Durant, Oklahoma, Walter Colbert, Ardmore, Oklahoma Ben Colbert, Washington D.C.; two daughters, Mrs. H.Y.McBride, Denver, Colorado and Mrs. M. Corlan, Oklahoma City. Arrangements announced later by The Hahns.

Mrs. Colbert's funeral set today - Final rites for Mrs. Athenius Madeline Colbert, 94 years old, born near Eagletown, Oklahoma, in 1835, will be conducted at the Hahn funeral home, 110 West Tenth street at 2 o.clock Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be in Fairlawn cemetery. Mrs. Colbert, known as Oklahoma's oldest native, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Michael Corlan, 805 East Twentieth.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Athenius M. Colbert, 94, 803 E. 20th, who died Sunday, will be conducted from the Hahn funeral home Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment Fairlawn.
