Henry Klostermann, born in 1814 in Germany, married Gertrude Konzen there and came to America in 1840. Their two children, Henry born 1841 and Francis born 1844, were born in Ohio. Henry purchased his first 40 acres on July 2, 1844 and sold them to F. Joseph Klostermann in 1848
Five children were born in New Vienna: Susan 1846; Casper 1848; Mary Anna 1850; Agnes 1853; and Josephine. Henry purchased 160 acres two miles north of New Vienna when he sold his other land. He sold these acres in 1857 when he moved to Richmond, MN., with the Lenner, Ressemann, and Willenbring families.
