LT Heitner was a graduate of Curtis High School, Staten Island, New York, Class of 1963, and attended Syracuse University as an architectual major. graduating in 1969. He was a draftee and took his Basic Training at Fort Dix, NJ, and then Infantry OCS, and Airborne and Ranger training at Fort Benning, GA.
The son of the Rev. Donald and Millie Heitner, LT Heitner's home of record was Syracuse, New York.
