Ray Andrews, son of the late Jefferson and Anna Dethrow Andrews was born at Alton, MO. on March 11, 1895 and departed this life August 12, 1961 at Kennedy Veterans Hospital in Memphis, TN, at the age of 66 years 5 months and one day.
He was a World War I veteran.
He and a member of the International Order of Oddfellows.
He is survived by his wife Golda of the home at Alton, MO; two sons, Joe Andrews of Alton, MO; and Ray Jr. of the home; one daughter Deloris Norman of Alton, MO; two brothers Amos of Alton, MO; and Ernest of Detroit, MI; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Rogers of West Plains, MO; and Mrs. Georgia Dodson of Detroit, MI; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tues. August 15, 1961 at the Nebo Pentecostal Church with Rev. Claudie Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Cave Spring Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer, MO.
Pallbearers were Bob Fanning, Melburn Redburn, Gene Andrews, James Wiggs, Ray Dethrow Jr. and Jack Andrews.

Ray Andrew, born March 11, 1895, was the son of Jeff and Anna (Dethrow) Andrews.
He grew up in Oregon County and the state of Oklahoma. When a young man, he helped his father in the Oregon County Collector's office, and helped with the family telephone office in Oklahoma.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War I.
In 1926, Ray married Golda Fanning. They had three children: Joe, Deloris and Ray, Jr.
Ray worked in California, Colorado, Iowa and Missouri. In 1959 he retired from Sunnen Products Co. of St. Louis and moved back to his farm, east of Alton.
Ray died in 1961, buried in the Cave Springs Cemetery near Alton, MO.
