James was the son of John and Seraphina Totten Nave. He married Zorada, daughter of George and Sarah Oder Sebastian, on February 8, 1876 in Garrard County. They were the parents of Sallie, Samuel, Leonard, Myrtle, Edna, Louis, Malinda and Georgia Nave. Mr. Nave supported his family by farming his own land.
•Obituary-Mr. James D. Nave died at his home last night after a short illness of only four days of pneumonia. Mr. Nave lived on the Lancaster and Stanford road, but was a former resident of Garrard county, where he was born about 88 years ago. He was a well known farmer and leaves many friends who will learn of his passing with regret. He was well liked by his acquaintances.
He is survived by his wife and four children, Mrs. Wilson, of Indiana, Mrs. Webb Kelley, of this county and Messrs. Louis and Leonard Nave of Lincoln county. Funeral services were held at the residence on Tuesday afternoon, interment following in the Lancaster cemetery.
