Wesley was the son of Greenberry and Nancy May King, all natives of Estill County, Kentucky.
He was a veteran of the Civil War and served as a Pvt. in Co. H, 7th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry, Union Army.
After returning from the war, he married Mary Emma Gulley on August 16, 1866 in Jessamine County. They raised a large family in Garrard County.
Obituary-Buckeye-Mr. Wesley King died at his home near here April 20. He was 76 years old and leaves a wife and five children, and one sister, Mrs. George Thompson, Bourne.
