"A BUD PLUCKED BY THE HAND DIVINE"
Yes, Jr. was a little bud, so pure
Sent down from Heaven above
To cheer, bless and make a home
By filling it with his love.
He was the favorite with his
father and mother;
To their heart he was so dear;
And often during his life on earth
They shed an anxious tear.
But God from His home in the Heavens
Reached down His hand of love.
And said in sweetest tones: " Little
It is enough; come above."
Then his sobbing parents said
When they turned broken-hearted
The silent tomb of the dear.
"Oh, its so hard to go and leave
A bud of earth to bloom in Heaven
Was this darling little boy;
Who awaits to greet his loved ones
When they reach the Heavenly world.
Oh, cheer up, mother; cheer up,
Now your darling sweetly rests
All free from sorrow, sickness
Sleeping on the Savior's breast.
Again some bright day you shall
On the happy golden shore,
And in the Presence of the Savior
And you shall sing for evermore!
