Timothy Ruopp was a Police Officer in San Diego, California for 2 1/2 years. He also was an ordained minister. He died in the line of duty at age 31. Him and a female Police Officer Kimberly Tonahill, were both shot and killed by an armed suspect at the Grape Street Park. They located a vehicle in the park that contained two underage females, Gina Hensel-16, and Dana Andresen-15, with two males, Joselito Cinco-25, and Victor Casillas. They had been drinking Whiskey and taking Meth. Officer Ruopp was issuing a citation for contributing delinquency to a minor, while Officer Tanahill was questioning the other subject. As she began to search him, he produced a handgun and shot her in the side, then shot Officer Ruopp in the leg. When he went down, the man then shot him in the head. At that time a third Officer arrived at the Park as routine cover, and heard gunshots. He located both Officers Patrol Cars. The hidden suspect fired at him and wounded him, the Police Officer returned fire, wounding the suspect. The suspect escaped, hiding deeper into the Park. When daylight arrived, Police Officers located the suspect, Joselito Cinco, and took him into custody. He was convicted to two counts of first degree murder and sentenced to death. While on death row at San Quentin Prison, several years later, the suspect hung himself. Officer Ruopp was survived by a wife and four children. Him and Officer Tonahill had a double Funeral. He was cremated.
