JOPLIN, MO —


Amanda Rose Lane, age 25 of Joplin, passed away at 10:12 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2011 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Pittsburg, Kan.

Born March 23, 1986 in Riverside, Calif., she had lived in Joplin since 1995. She was a Christian. Amanda enjoyed teaching and caring for children. She attended Dental Hygienist school, then obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Pittsburg State University and was pursuing her Master's to become a History Teacher. She also worked as a nanny in Pittsburg.

Survivors include her father, Jim Lane of Joplin; her mother, Debbie Walker Lane of Springfield, Mo.; paternal grandmother, Emma Wescott of Ontario, Calif.; maternal grandmother, Rosemary Walker of Springfield; six aunts and uncles, Terry and Karen Lane, both of Ontario, Calif., Becky McMahan of Santa Rosa, Calif., Howard Wescott of Azusa, Calif., Roseann Emerson and husband Tom of Springfield, Diana Caffey and husband Paul of Elk Head, Mo.; many cousins and countless friends.

Amanda was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, James Lane; maternal grandfather, Danny Walker; uncle, Bobby and aunt, Donna.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Parker Chapel, after which, the family will receive friends. Cremation arrangements will follow under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
