The Rev. Dewey C. Craft, 88, of Athens passed away Saturday at Huntsville Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Church, Athens. Larry Hill, Dewayne Kirk and Stan Davidson will officiate. The Rev. Craft will lie in repose from noon until the service time. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Athens.
Most recently a pastor emeritus, the Rev. Craft was former pastor of the First Church in Athens for 25 years. He held several state positions with the United Pentecostal Church. A World War II veteran, he was a former partner and general manager of Southern Materials in Huntsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Louise Jean Craft.
Survivors include son, Dr. Rick Craft and wife Dianne of Athens; grandsons, Robin Craft and wife Gwen of Worcester, Mass., and Jonathan Craft of Athens; great-granddaughter, Elaina Craft of Worcester, Mass.; brothers, David Craft of Utah, Joe Craft and Ray Craft, both of Huntsville, and Lloyd Craft of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; and sister, Juannell Adkins of Little Rock, Ark.
