s/o Glenn L. Goggins, Ada A. Blomquist

WASHINGTON - Glen Edward Goggins, 83, passed away at home of a heart attack on December 20, 2008. He was a handsome, elegant, one of a kind man. He loved golf, camping, going to Mesquite, and loved to drive and be on the go. He was born in Daly City, Calif. to Glen and Ada Bloomquist Goggins on October 18, 1925.

Glen had a rough childhood. His mother died when he was seven. He went out on his own when he was 13. He lied about his age and enlisted in the Army. He belonged to the 4th Infantry Division and 974th Field Artillery Battalion in Europe. He told stories about walking across France and Germany.

He was a cook on the Queen Mary.

Glen was a member of the Baptist Church. He had many interesting jobs ranging from a professional dancer, lumber jack, journeyman, tool & dye & machinist. He retired from Spectra Physics in Eugene, Oregon and was one of 13 men who developed and made the first market scanners. He was a story teller and was always fun.

He married Cleta Anderson and had two sons. They were divorced in 1987. He married Norma Haney in Ogden in 1996. They had 12 wonderful happy years together. They spent summers in Star Valley, Wyoming and winters in St. George.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest son, Kenneth.

Surviving are his son, Edward of Layton, who he was very proud of; his wife, Norma; her four children and their families; one sister Shirly Loggins of Marietta, Georgia.

Glen was very loved and will be missed.

It was his wish to be cremated. No viewing or funeral will be held. Friends can visit Norma at her home. Thanks to Serenicare for your compassionate service.
