William Henry Steinkruger II, D.V.M., 55, of Cottage Grove died Feb. 21, 2009. He was born March 25, 1953, in Franklin, Nebr. to William and Lela (Lipp) Steinkruger.
On June 10, 1978, he married Susan Bayley in Lincoln, NE.
Bill earned a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and established Forest Valley Veterinary Clinic in Cottage Grove in 1986. Dr. Bill was known and loved by countless animals and their owners as a skilled and compassionate veterinarian.
He loved the outdoors: hiking, rafting, rock hunting, and playing in his garden.
Dr. Bill is survived by his wife, Susan, his mother, Lela Mae Steinkruger, a daughter, Sarah Claire Steinkruger and a son, Alex Steinkruger, a sister, Niesje Steinkruger, two brothers, Dan Steinkruger of and Barry Steinkruger, numerous nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
