Dorothy M. Parker, 79 years of Erie, MI., died Wednesday August 11, 2004, at St. Vincents Hospital, Toledo, OH. Mrs. Parker was born July 15, 1925, in Ida, MI., to Fred C. and Lena (Knab) Turner. She married Paul "Dick" Parker, June 26, 1948, in St. Marks Lutheran Church, Ida. A member of Prince the Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, Dorothy was employed by Fox and Hounds as a waitress from 1972-1977. She also delivered papers for the Monroe Evening News. For many years she loved playing cards with friends.
Survivors include her husband Paul "Dick", four sons, James F. (Donna) Parker of Sylvania, Donald L. Parker of Milpitas, CA, Richard D. Parker of Mountain View, CA. Dennis A. Parker of Erie, MI; a daughter, Debra L. Parker and her life partner Jennifer Rico of Toledo; a sister, Ruth (Tom) Beavers of Monroe, three grandchildren, Christine (Jeff) Morris, Danielle Pope, Jeremy Parker and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Viola Metz, Mary Paselk and Wilma Stotz.
Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, MI., Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 10:a.m. until 9 p.m. She will lie in state at Prince the Peace Lutheran Church, Ida Sunday from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Pastor David Hendricks will officiate. Burial will be in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery, Sylvania.
Memorial contributions for Mrs. Parker may be made to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, MI or the American Diabetes Assocciastion.
