Patricia Marie Bigwitch Long Armachain, age 50, of the Painttown Community died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 in Mission St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville, NC. A native of Swain County, member of the Macedonia Baptist Church and a basket maker.
Mrs. Armachain was the daughter of the late Fred Bigwitch, Sr and is preceded in death by two daughters, April and Leann Armachain and one son, John Allen Armachain.
Survivors are her husband Martin Armachain, Sr. of the home, daughter, Marlene Armachain of the home, son Martin Armachain, Jr. and fiancee, Melinda Littlejohn, mother, Eva Bigwitch of Cherokee, NC, granddaughter, Marilyn Walkingstick, five brothers, J.D. George, Isaac, Charles, Fred Alllen, and Richard Bigwitch, all of Cherokee, NC, two sisters, Lucy Teesateskie and Peggy Littlejohn of Cherokee, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, June 14, 2002 at the Cherokee Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev.Betty Drake and Rev. Wayne Hornbuckle officiating. Burial will be at the Armachain Family Cemetery on Swimmer Branch. The body will be placed in the Church Thursday, June 13, at 4:00 PM and remain there until the service hour.
