INFLUENZA CLAIMS LOVELOCK YOUTH
Lovelock, Mar. 28 - Influenza claimed its first victim in Lovelock this week when Cleveland Billups, son of Simeon Billups, passed away at the home of his father on the William Thorne ranch, north of town. Cleveland Billups was thirty-eight years old and had been in poor health for many years.
He contracted a severe cold about ten days ago which later developed into influenza from which he was not strong enough to rally.
Funeral services were conducted today at the family residence by Rev. P.H. Willis of the Methodist church. Interment will be made in Lone Mountain Cemetery. The Billups family are numbered among the Lovelock pioneers.
Besides his father he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Ida Thorne and Miss Lilly Billups, both residents of Lovelock.
