Ruby May Green Olsen Asay was born Tuesday, July 14, 1914 in Eureka, Utah to George Arthur, Sr. and Martha Evaline Ekker Green.
She married Keith Olsen on August 14, 1946 in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She also married Charles Arvel Asay on February 14, 1969 in Salt Lake. He died in 1994.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she served a Western States Mission, South Salt Lake Stake Mission, and as Stake Cub Scout director.
She was a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed making hand craft items for her family and friends.
She loved playing the piano, accordion and dancing. She loved fishing, boating, and camping. She was listed in the Greyhound magazine as "Rifle Ruby" when she shot two deer with one shot.
Ruby passed away on Thursday, June 19, 1997 at her home. She resided at 161 East Vidas Avenue (2575 South) in South Salt Lake, Utah at the time of her death.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, June 24, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary located at 260 East South Temple Street in Salt Lake City. A viewing was held on Monday, June 23, 1997 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday.
Ruby was laid to rest following the conclusion of the Funeral Services at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in East Millcreek.
