William Landon served with Company I, 95th Illinois Infantry. Born in Illinois in April, 1840, he died at his home on South Ninth Street Ponca City on March 1, 1902. Left to mourn his death was his wife Samantha and children, Carlton, Thomas, William, Etta, Olie, Sherman and Virginia. The Landons were married in Fulton County, Illinois on July 12 1868. They resided in Illinois, Indian Territory, and Kansas before coming to Oklahoma.
