Florence (Floy) passed away on Dec. 22, 1957, due to an auto acciddent. On Nov. 24, 1901 she married Fred James Dolbee (Nov. 6, 1878 –Dec. 19, 1957).

Florence was born in Locke Township. Both Mr. & Mrs. Dolbee were longtime residents of Aurelius. They were born there and were active in community and church affairs. Floy graduated from Mason High School in 1897. Both were members of the Aurelius Baptist Church. They lived at 4799 Bunker Road.

Their children:
Frances (Marion) Dolbee (Mar. 23, 1907);
Neal David Dolbee (May 11, 1911 – Aug. 16, 1999).

Mrs, Florence Dolbee, 79 of Bunker Road, Mason, died at a Coldwater hospital Sunday of injuries suffered Thursday in an automobile accident which killed her husband, Fred, also 79. According to Branch county sheriff's officers, Dolbee was driving west on Central Rd. four miles southeast of Coldwater when he ran a stop sign at Centennial Rd. and struck another car broadside, Fred died instantly. Robert Miller, 42, of Coldwater, driver of the other car, suffered rib fractures and cuts.

Survivors of Mr. & Mrs. Dolbee are a son, Neal, of Charlotte, and a daughter, Mrs. Marion Hamm of Nashville.

Floy was also a writer, although she would deny any idea of being a professional. She left a letter for her daughter...found after her death that said in part..."there are 2 days I never worry about...yesterday and tomorrow" A copy of her "psalm" was sent to Jacqueline Kennedy after the death of Jack. Mrs. Kennedy sent a kind reply. (excerp from a newpaper article in the Detroit Free Press 4-9-1964)

Funeral services for Mrs. Dolbee were held Thursday at the Jewett Funeral Home with Rev. V.L. Bass officiating.
