Marvin "Mike" Jones, 93, Frankfort, Kansas
died Friday, July 6, 2001 at his home north-
west of Frankfort.

He was born January 28, 1908 at rural
Frankfort, Kansas to Horace L. and Mabel
(Renshaw) Jones. He graduated from
Frankfort High School in 1925.

Mr. Jones was a farmer. He worked for the
U.S. Navy during World War II as a aircraft
engine mechanic in San Diego, CA. He
worked as a electrician in the Frankfort area
for a period of time after World War II.

Mr. Jones was a member of the United
Methodist Church in Frankfort where he
served as a trustee and usher. He was a past
worthy patron of Order of the Eastern Star,
both in Frankfort. He served 21 years as a
Trustee for the Marshall-Nemaha Electric
Cooperative, Inc. He was also a member of
the Marshall County Election Board for a
number of years, and a member of the
Township Committee many years.

He married Emma E. Smith on September
8,1933 at San Diego. She died December
26, 1995.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Jones,
St. Charles, Missouri and Lanny Jones,
Newton, Kansas; a brother, Robert Jones,
Norwalk, Conn.; three sisters, Mildred
Ridgeway, Omaha, Nebraska, Mary Lou
Smith, Shawnee, Kansas, and Marian Wilson
Lakewood, California; three grandchildren
and one great grandson.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m.
Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at the Frankfort
United Methodist Church with Reverend
Larry Bowyer officiating.

Music was provided by Janet Plegge, organist
Michael Jones and Rachel Dirks, trumpeter and
cellist. A scripture reading was given
by David Jones.

Pallbearers were Roger Buenemann, Charlie
Gerstner, Eric Gerstner, Ray Mosher, David
Jones, Michael Jones, Roger Jones and Bob
Jones.

Burial was in Barrett Cemetery, Frankfort,
Kansas.
