Death: Aug. 24, 1985

Double services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ here for Jesse J. Jenkins, 85, and his wife, Mrs. Vera Jenkins, 81, Marysville, who died early Saturday, Aug. 24 when fire swept through a room at their home. Authorities said they died of smoke inhalation.
Mr. Jenkins was a self-employed salesman. He was born July 2, 1900 at Titanic, Iowa, the son of William and Emma Allen Jenkins. He was a veteran of World War I. He was married to Martha Krohn Jan. 27, 1947. She died in 1958. He later was married to the former Vera Black. His survivors include a brother, William Jenkins, Austin, Minn.; and four sisters, Charlotte King and Ruth White both of Sioux City, Iowa, Emma McCall, Onawa, Iowa and Jewell Miller, Ponca, Neb.
Mrs. Jenkins was born Feb 17, 1904, at Barrett in Marshall County, the daughter of George and Margaret Mills Black.
Her survivors include a brother, Fred Black, Neodesha.
Burial for both will be in Barrett Cemetery at the Barrett community south of Frankfort. Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville is in charge of arrangements.
