Augustus A Burdick age 29 of Decorah,Iowa nativity New York enlisted Sept 30 1861 into Co G 12th Iowa Infantry as 2nd Sgt.

Promoted to 1st Sgt Feb 22 1862.

MIA at Battle of Shiloh Apr 6 1862 along with many others of the Iowa units near the Hornet's Nest.

Promoted 1st Lt Feb 25 1863.

Killed in action Jul 14 1864 Tupelo,MS
Buried Corinth Nat Cemetery Sec D Gr 9

Nelson B Burdick (probably brother of Augustus) same residence, nativity Pennsylvania, enlisted same day into same company as a Corporal.

Also missing in action at Shiloh Apr 6 1862.
Died Sep 18 1863 Decorah,Iowa.
