Eugene F. Baldwin
Clinchport, Va. - (Spl.) - The body of Pvt. Eugene F. Baldwin, killed in Algeria October 23, 1943, will arrive at the Clinchfield Railroad Station in Kingsport Saturday and will be met by a color guard of Gate City Post, American Legion, and taken to the home of his mother, Mrs. Ollie Baldwin, at Drakes Gap, near here. Survivors are the mother; two brothers, James and Elmer, both of Clinchport; three sisters, Mrs. John Gilliam, Fairview; Mrs. Walter Reynolds, Bonnie Blue, and Mrs. Hagen Bird, Sweetwater, Tenn. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the home. The Rev. Roy Jenkins will officiate. Burial will be in the veterans section of Holston View Cemetery, Gate City, with the Gate City Legion Post in charge of military rites at the grave.
