Funeral Service Set For T-5 Gr. Auxier

Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Mary Virginia Tabernacle on George's Creek for Tech. 5 Gr. Garnet R. Auxier, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Auxier of Elk Two Mile, who was killed in action while serving with the 128th Ordnance Co. at Buzziere, France, June 19, 1944. Rev. Clyde Wendell will officiate and the Charleston VFW post will conduct military rites. Interment will be in the Spring Hill cemetery. The body, which arrived yesterday at Owen and Barth mortuary, is now at the home of his parents. Surviving besides the parents are one sister, Mrs. Alfred Kinder of Comfort, and a brother, Dewey Auxier, at home, Tech. 5th G. Auxier entered the Army on Feb. 16, 1943. He had been overseas nearly a year when he was killed in action. (The Charleston Gazette, Charleston, WV, Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1948, p. 13, Col. 8)
