Ruth was the wife of Charles E. Bock and the daughter of Hugh Wallace and Lottie Dolman (Shaw) Campbell. Ruth and Charles had one son, James, who became a lawyer, who primarily lived in Fresno. Ruth worked as a secretary or medical assistant in the office of Dr. Rosson, prior to going to College of the Sequoias where she taught business classes for a number of years. In her will of 1994, she left the residual of her estate to the Hanford UMC. Her instructions, as paraphrased, were that the First United Methodist Church is to use the funds as the Church feels necessary to develop a program to train lay members of the Church to help home ridden individuals, those that are bereaved, elderly, shut-in, ill, or emotionally distraught from the loss of family members, and who otherwise require emotional and sympathetic care and support because of their handicapped situations.
