In the Mexican War he was in Compnay F, 4th Regiment of Infantry as Sergeant. Major Cramer saw active service in Pea Ridge, Chickasaw Bayau, Arkansas Post, Jackson & Vicksburg. After the War he was elected Representative of his district. He was founder of the Cramer Homestead where Cramer Chapel is located in the North Part of the County.
