Henry was born in Hampden, Wisconsin. He entered into the service on October 2, 1917 at Juneau, Wisconsin. He served in the 131st Infantry during WWI as a rank of Wagoner. Henry stayed in the military until May 30, 1919 when he was discharged from service. He stated on his application for admission to the Grand Army Home for Veterans that he was retired and formerly was a laborer. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Henry entered the Wisconsin Veterans Home (formerly Grand Army Home) on April 6, 1959 and he stayed their until his death from Massive Anteroseptal myocardial infarction. He was married to Louis M. Essmann Jan 24, 1923 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He was separated from her when he entered into the Veterans home. Louis died May 1970 in Beaver Dam.
