Mr. Schmitz was a lifelong resident of the area, born in the Town of Grafton on November 21, 1927 to Henry and Yuba (Harnack) Schmitz. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and drove a truck for H & K Concrete Products of Grafton.
Mr. Schmitz married Betty Mae Ramthun of Grafton on November 23, 1981, in Glendale.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, brother Roland (Joyce) Schmitz of Prescott AZ, and sister, Florence (Elmer) Wille of West Bend.
Memorials may be given to the Mount Sinai Hospice.
