Marjorie Louise Canning was born in Jefferson County, Neb., Aug. 21, 1913, to Harm and Elsie Meyer. She died Nov. 1, 1988, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

She spent her school years in Reynolds and Fairbury, Neb.

A charter member of the Fairbury Foursquare Church in Fairbury, she had been organist and Sunday School teacher for over 60 years.

Although she had no natural children, LaVonne Green, Doyle Canning (deceased) and Donna Faye Drohman were all raised by her as her own children.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Bob Meyer.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald; brothers, John Meyer of Ocala, Fla., David Meyer of Fairbury and Gerald Meyer of Beatrice; sisters, Lois Thrasher of Hastings and Tillie Kujath of Fairbury.

Services were Nov. 5 from the Foursquare Gospel Church in Fairbury with the Rev. Brooks Bryan officiating. John Meyer gave the eulogy. Dorothy Bade was organist. Vernadine and Dwaine Friesen sang, accompanied by Peggy Friesen. Burial in the Fairbury Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lowell Thrasher, Steven Meyer, Gary Meyer, Richard Kujath, Stephen Green and Jerry Canning.
