Larry Melvin Davis -FORSYTH - Larry Melvin Davis, 76, passed away June 20, 2009, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. He was born October 17, 1932, and was a long time resident of Monroe County. He graduated from Mary Persons High School in Forsyth in 1949, and attended the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida. -Mr. Davis retired from Robins Air Force Base after a career of 37 years. A devout Christian, he had been a long time deacon, adult Sunday School teacher, and treasurer of Midway Baptist Church in Lizella. He was a member of St. Andrew Christian Church in Macon. His hobby was genealogy and family history. -Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, James Daniel "Dan" Davis and Jane (Childs) Davis. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ann (Pierson) Davis; children, James Steven Davis, Janice Dianne Davis Mallory, and John Carey Davis; son-in-law, Paul S. Mallory; grandchildren, Leah Pierson Davis Mallory, Paul Steven Mallory, Jr., James Daniel Davis II, Amanda Davis, and Alyssa Davis; brother and sister in law, Ronald and Hilda Davis. -Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at St. Andrew Christian Church, 6220 Thomaston Road, Macon, Georgia. The Reverend Bill Tyre will officiate. Burial will be private in the Forsyth City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6PM until 8PM, Monday, June 22, 2009 at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
