|Death: ||Nov. 14, 2006|
Carol Reed passed away on Tuesday AM after her valiant battle with cancer. Her family reports that when she slipped away peacefully, her three children, two of her closest friends, and her beloved cat were all at her bedside. Carol had worked for the ILWU for the past 20 + years where she met many people who are her friends to this day. She moved to Norco in 2000 where she met many more friends and also joined the Country Life Fellowship Church. Her old and new friends and church family brought her great joy and with the addition of her horse, Ranger, she finally felt she was "Home" at last.
Carol was an accomplished artist and loved to draw. She enyoyed riding Ranger, as well as her Harley. She loved sitting on her back porch sharing stories with her friends.
Carol's greatest love was for her three children, Jim, Vickie, and Donna, and her four grandchildren, Ken, Michael, Jameson and Becky.
Carol was loved and will be missed by many.
Her request was no services. Instead of a formal service, there be a cowboy "last ride" at 10 AM on Saturday the 25th of November at Hidden Valley Wildlife Arlington Avenue Riverside, California. We will meet at the staging area on the bluff overlooking the wetland ponds. Bring your horse and ride along to the river, or bring your binoculars to abserve all the beautiful birds & wildlife. The family has asked that instead of flowers, donations be made to one of her favorite charities: the St. Jude Children's Hospital. Please continue to pray for her family in their loss.
~~~She had likes and dislikes, supported what she believed to be right and wrong, and didn't mind saying so. She was a very strong woman, yet tender when touched. I'm grateful I had her in my life and I miss her daily.~~~~
