Dodd, Gerald 'Wayne'
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Gerald "Wayne" Dodd, 77, Ashville, who passed away Monday, Aug.9,2010. The Rev. Billy Hunt and Dr. James Sampley will officiate with burial to follow at Ashville Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Service directing.
Wayne was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Ashville. He owned and operated McBrayer Grocery Store in Ashville.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Clela Runyans Dodd;daughters, Diane (Mike) Davis and Kay Dodd; grandchildren, Kim Davis, Timothy Davis and Jessica Kuykendall; siblings, Gene Dodd, Thelma Bowling and Ethelyn Fuqua; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will include Larry Robinson, John Robinson, Greg Williams, Clarence Woods, Tommy Kuykendall and Garry Runyans. Honorary pallbearers will include Lamar Battles, Buddy Hydrick and Boone Turner.
Special thanks to those who gave loving care during his brief illness.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until time of service Wednesday.
