Obituary from the Shreveport Times newspaper, Jan. 20, 1976, Tuesday, p. 8-A:

Henry I. Schober, 80, of Pierremont Heritage Manor Nursing Home, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the nursing home after a long illness.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today in the Osborn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. L. Wilson Warren, pastor of Dunlap Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of the Osborn Funeral Home.

A native of Rodney, Miss., Mr. Schober had resided in Shreveport for 70 years. He was a retired Caddo Parish deputy tax assessor, a member of Dunlap Presbyterian Church, a Shriner and member of Joppa Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, and El Karubah Shrine Temple. He was the oldest member of the Royal Order of Jesters, and was emeritus member of El Karubah Shrine directors.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Frederick J. Decker of Shreveport, five nieces and four nephews and a number of grandnieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be A. M. Richmond, Ben F. Reeves, Ed Clark, Don G. Carpenter, Eddie J. Gillan and Ray Morris.

Memorials may be sent to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital.
